Monkeys!

Yesterday we did a long hike on the trail that parallels the beach in Cahuita National Park.  It's lush and gorgeous, rainforest trees, vines, birds and animals right up to the edge of a perfect white sand beach.  There are troops of Capuchin and howler monkeys swinging around, at times really close up. You could watch their antics for hours.  Mostly very wild, but a few of them are obviously too used to humans, aggressively going for our packs.  We also had to ward off raccoons!
Lots of other wildlife including spiders, crabs, lizards, coatis, and everywhere a deep verdant green - true jungle, and you wouldn't want to go off the trail.  We didn't see snakes, but others did.
Many Dutch tourists here for whatever reason, all with impeccable English.  Our little cabin as are great, and tons of good restaurants.  Heard about an 80 car pileup on the 401 in a snowsquall - sorry to miss it...
