Bump and Grind

I'll add more here later, but just wanted to report on our trip into Nosara.  The segment from Samara to Nosara was incredibly bad - picture the Slough road in Big Bay for 30 km.  Daylight was one thing, and at one point we had to hold our breath and ford a stream, encouraged by a carload of Québécois, drunk and in a 4WD jeep. Yahoo!  But we made it and bumped along, praying that the endless sharp stones wouldn't puncture our tires.  Then darkness fell, and the potholes started to look like craters, the hills like mountains (they were).
But here we are in the most beautiful B and B, Villa Mango, on a high hill overlooking the Pacific, so it was worth the struggle.  This morning we reverse the drive, then head up to Monteverde, where they say the roads are kept REALLY bad to discourage crowds of tourists!
